We don’t just love birds, we love the birder.
WellBirds exists to provide you—the birding enthusiast, the birdwatcher, the newbie or experienced birder, the twitcher, the ornithologist—with resources to enhance your wellbeing through birds, birding, and nature.
We want the birder to reach their full potential with energy and vitality, and not just so the birder will be better skilled at birding, but so the birder will be better equipped to handle the challenges of life, flourish in relationships, and be able to fully engage with their work and community.
How it all began
As an HR professional and a leader in employee wellness, Jack Bruce was never satisfied with the typical admonitions to exercise and eat healthily, believing that most of us already know what to do but are not motivated to engage in the habits that lead to healthy, productive lives.
From his own experience as a birder who was reaping the benefits of being out in nature, Jack quickly recognized that birding and nature can provide a tantalizing appeal to get active, connect with others, and enhance our mental and spiritual wellbeing.
That’s why in 2024, Jack founded WellBirds to deliver informative writings and engaging presentations on the wellbeing benefits of birding and nature, showcasing the benefits to our total health.
